Calm Baby’s Gentle Burping Moment

What can cause spit-up?

A small stomach, swallowed air, and movement after feeding can bring milk back up. Spit-up generally flows out without forceful abdominal contractions.

Try a calmer feeding rhythm

Gently burp during natural feeding breaks and limit active play immediately afterward. Hold your baby upright while awake and supervised; use a flat, back-sleeping position for sleep.

Contact the pediatrician

Call promptly for forceful vomiting after feeds or blood in vomit. Discuss feeding discomfort or growth concerns. Do not add cereal, change formula, or restrict your diet as treatment without your clinician’s guidance.
