Parents of Multiples
How can I plan a gentler day with twins or triplets?
Shared logistics. Individual little people. A plan that leaves room for both.
Quick Answer
Individual routines, shared logistics, and practical support for busy days.

Avoid the comparison trap
The AAP encourages treating twins as individuals, supporting their separate interests and respecting personal space. A shared birthday does not mean the same preferences or needs.
Choose one shared anchor
Pick something that already happens, such as getting ready or an afternoon check-in. Give each child a small role that fits their abilities. Keep help flexible rather than expecting every child to move at the same pace.
Try it in your planner
Add each child’s nickname in My family. Build a short routine for each. Start with one action and adjust independently.
Open Today’s PlannerMake help specific
When support is available, ask for a concrete task: bring groceries, prepare a familiar meal, or cover an agreed care task. For solo days, shorten the plan and prioritize safe care and essentials.
One-on-one connection can be a brief moment rather than an elaborate outing. An individual story, choice, or check-in may be enough for today. Adapt to your household.
